Referral
The pathway usually begins with a referral from a GP, psychiatrist or psychologist. Your referring clinician knows your history, and stays involved in your care alongside us, we keep them informed at every stage.
Our approach
Medicine-assisted therapy is a carefully structured course of care, not a single event. Here is what the full journey looks like, from first referral to ongoing support, explained plainly, at a human pace.
The treatment journey
Every person's journey is individual, and suitability is confirmed through assessment , but the broad shape of care is consistent. This is what to expect.
The pathway usually begins with a referral from a GP, psychiatrist or psychologist. Your referring clinician knows your history, and stays involved in your care alongside us, we keep them informed at every stage.
Next comes a thorough medical and psychological screening with our authorised prescriber and clinical team. This isn't a formality. It helps the team assess whether the pathway may be suitable and identify individual risks. If it isn't, we'll say so honestly and help you think about other options.
You'll meet with your dedicated therapist team for three preparation sessions before anything else happens. Together you'll build understanding of what to expect, develop trust, and get genuinely ready. Nothing is rushed at this stage.
The medicine session itself is a single, supervised full day, held in a calm, private room designed for exactly this purpose. Your therapist team is with you throughout, and our medical team oversees the whole session.
After each medicine session, three integration sessions give you room to process what came up and make sense of the experience. These conversations explore what the experience may mean and how any insights might be approached in everyday life.
Preparation, medicine session and integration together form one cycle. The full protocol includes three of these rounds, giving the work time to unfold and deepen across the course of treatment.
Once the individual protocol is complete, you're welcome to join our rolling group integration programme, a warm, ongoing community space. We'll also develop a personalised ongoing care plan with you, so you're never simply handed back.
From your first preparation session to your ongoing care plan, you are supported by the same dedicated therapist team. Continuity matters here, you shouldn't have to retell your story at every stage, and trust has time to grow.
Start with a simple, unhurried conversation. We'll answer your questions and help you work out whether the pathway is worth exploring.
